Wavefunction, Inc., was founded in 1991 on the basis of a single ideal: that molecular modeling software should be powerful enough for industrial and academic research while remaining affordable and easy to use. While Wavefunction has grown rapidly over the past several years, it remains committed to its original ideal: producing affordable, state-of-theart software that any chemist can use. This vision was first realized in the form of the Spartan software package. With Spartan in the classroom, students can visualize what was previously incomprehensible. In the laboratory, researchers can explore novel drug candidates. Spartan combines state-of-the-art visualization with powerful calculations in a complete molecular modeling package. In fact, Spartan is so easy to use that it has become the dominant teaching tool in hundreds of university chemistry departments.
