UC Discovery Grants
The University of California has expanded the UC Discovery Grants program from its original focus areas of biotechnology and microelectronics. UC Discovery Grants form a 3-way partnership between UC, Industry Sponsors, and the State of California. Information on how to apply and deadlines are available on the Web.
The Industry-University Cooperative Research Program(IUCRP) awards hundreds of UC Discovery Grants each year in five fields of science and engineering:
- Biotechnology
- Communications and Networking
- Digital Media
- Electronics Manufacturing & New Materials
- Information Technology for Life Sciences
- Multidisciplinary Research
The MICRO Program was established in 1981 by the State of California. Its purpose is to support innovative research in microelectronics technology, its applications in computer and information sciences, and its necessary antecedents in other physical science disciplines.
The objective is to help the California electronics and computer industries maintain their leadership by expanding relevant research and graduate student training and education at the University of California (UC).
